Montolivo agent denies Gunners talks

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old as a possible replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who is wanted by Barcelona. Montolivo was one of a few Azzurri players to impress at the World Cup and his agent Giovanni Branchini claims there are a number of clubs watching his client. Branchini is not surprised Arsenal have been linked with Montolivo, but he has quashed speculation the north Londoners have already held talks with the Viola. "It's not ridiculous that Arsenal are looking at Montolivo," he told Violanews.com. "In fact there is very strong interest from clubs more famous than Arsenal. "One thing I will say and that is official negotiations are not ongoing. "A good World Cup has increased interest in Montolivo, but to say that we are close to reaching an agreement is absurd."
