Monaco vice-president says 'great clubs' lining up to sign Falcao
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev says great clubs are interested in signing Radamel Falcao should Manchester United decide not to make his loan stay at Old Trafford permanent.
Goal understands the terms of a full transfer between the French club and their English counterparts were put in place back in September when Falcao made his shock deadline-day loan move.
But the Colombian's subdued form in recent weeks, coupled with manager Louis van Gaal's decision to leave him out of the squad for the game against Southampton back in January, which led to concerns from influential agent Jorge Mendes, has meant that his future remains unclear.
The Monaco chief, however, says he has faith in the striker's ability and that a number of sides have contacted his club about a summer transfer.
"I'm not worried for Falcao, he is a world-class striker," Vasilyev told BBC Sport.
"If Manchester United decide not take up the option at the end of the season, we have interest from other great clubs. So I am really not worried for him at all."
It had appeared at the end of August that Falcao was on the verge of a move to Real Madrid after a tweet appeared on his person Twitter account hailing his "dream" move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The message was swiftly removed, however, and two days later he had penned a one-year loan deal at Old Trafford, earning wages in the region of £260,000 per week.
