Northern Ireland U21 international Andy Mitchell has signed a new one-year deal with Rangers.

Mitchell, who has moved from a midfield role to full-back, progressed from the U21 ranks last season and played in the club's last four games in Scottish Division Three.

His form at the end of the season was such that he was named man-of-the-match against Clyde and Berwick.

The former Manchester City trainee is returning home to Ulster soon ahead of a trip to Cyprus with his international colleagues.

Mitchell will then be back in Glasgow towards the end of June for the start of pre-season training as he moves into his fifth year with the Gers.
