Milner: City setting no targets

Sheikh Mansour saw the first return on his considerable investment last term as Roberto Mancini led the team to a Champions League place and the FA Cup, their first trophy in 35 years. The Blues will be expected to challenge for the Premier League title this season but Milner insists they will be setting no such target. "The main thing is to push Manchester City forward as a club," he told Sky Sports News. "We had a good season last season but it's all about bettering that. To do what we did again last season, you have to keep pushing on and keep improving year on year." While progress is the aim, Milner knows the Champions League will prove the team with fresh challenges. He added: "We had a good season (last year), third in the league as a good achievement. "Every team has strengthened their squad as well and there are obviously a lot of top teams. The Champions League is going to be a new experience for us as a squad, so we will see what happens and take things as they come. We will try and improve on last year. "Last year we didn't really give ourselves targets, we knew that the target was fourth place but we didn't just settle for that, we kept going and seeing what we could achieve. "I'm sure we will do that this year and who knows what we can achieve."
