Mills: Promotion my highlight
Gary Mills says guiding York back into the Football League rates above his European Cup win as a player with Nottingham Forest.
Mills dragged the Minstermen out of the Blue Square Bet Premier last season with victory over Luton Town in the play-off final and the club are currently sitting in the top half of League Two.
But that seemed an unlikely prospect when Mills joined the club in 2010.
"People told me it had been eight years of hell," he told the Independent. "They thought they were never going to get back into the league. It was important I didn't get sucked into that.
"We put a barrier up to that and we got everyone on to our side. We made people smile again and enjoy being at the club.
"I'm very proud of what we have achieved. I won the European Cup with Forest and a few people have asked me what is my greatest moment. Mine was when the final whistle went against Luton at Wembley."
