AC Milan will be bolstered by the return of Andrea Pirlo for Saturday's match against Brescia.

The Italy international has recovered from a muscular injury that ruled him out of action for the past two weeks.

Pirlo is expected to be included in the starting XI against Brescia, the club where he began his career.

"Andrea is a crucial player for Milan," said Rossoneri coach Massimiliano Allegri.

"He can give the team a further leap in quality."

Milan go into the encounter at the San Siro on the back of a 1-1 draw at Sampdoria last weekend.

The result extended their unbeaten run to five games and left Allegri's side three points clear at the top of the Serie A standings.

"It was our best game of the year in terms of intensity," said Allegri.

"We made just one mistake and Samp scored. But I'm very happy with the performance of my players and we are doing very well."

Milan will look to increase their three-point advantage over second-placed Lazio this weekend.

The Rome club host Inter Milan 24 hours before AC Milan take on Brescia.

Brescia will be looking to pick up where they left off in Sunday's goalless draw against Genoa.

The result was Brescia's third draw in five games and lifted the Rondinelle to 17th in the standings, level on 12 points with Cesena and Lecce in 18th and 19th respectively.

Brescia coach Giuseppe Iachini is aware of the challenge that awaits his men this weekend.

"AC Milan are in great form and it will be very difficult to stop them," Iachini said.

"But we will try to do our best and get a result at the San Siro."

A defeat against the Rossoneri could see Brescia drop into the relegation zone.

Brescia, who have won just once on the road this season, will be at full strength with Alessandro Diamanti having recovered from a minor knock.

The hosts will be without injured trio Alexandre Pato, Filippo Inzaghi and Massimo Oddo.
