Mexico interim coach Ferretti excludes Ochoa for friendlies
MEXICO CITY (AP) Mexico's new interim coach Ricardo Ferretti has left goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and brothers Jonathan and Giovani Dos Santos out of the squad for the upcoming friendlies next month against Trinidad and Tobaho and Argentina.
Ochoa was the starter for Mexico in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Ferretti took over earlier this week as interim and has said he will coach the national team for only four matches, giving Mexican officials time to find a permanent replacement for Miguel Herrera.
The two matches are warm-ups for Mexico's match against the United States on Oct. 10 in Pasadena, California, with the winner qualifying for the 2017 Confederations Cup.
