Tecos missed a great chance to beat Group 1 leaders Tigres after the sides fought out an exciting 0-0 draw at the Estadio de Marzo.
Goalkeeper Christian Martinez had to make several good saves to deny the Tigres attack, but the best chance fell to the home team.
Mauro Cejas was fouled in the area by Manuel Viniegra, but Israel Hernandez crashed the resulting penalty against the crossbar.
Cejas also forced Tigres keeper Enrique Palos into making a full-stretch save as both sides battled to make the breakthrough
