Hector Altamirano scored a late penalty to give Queretaro a 2-2 draw with Guadalajara in the Mexican Apertura football championship Saturday.
In the day's other matches, in-form Pachuca rallied to beat UNAM Pumas 3-2, Chiapas won 2-0 over Atlante, UANL Tigres thrashed UAG Estudiantes 5-0 and Atlas had a 2-1 win over San Luis.
Emilio Lopez put Queretaro ahead in the 57th minute at home against Guadalajara. Chivas rallied through Jesus Sanchez in the 59th and Marco De La Mora in the 74th, but Edgar Mejia conceded a penalty and was sent off with ten minutes to play.
Altamirano held his nerve from the spot to level the game.
Chivas has now gone eight matches without winning and faces a struggle to qualify for the playoffs.
On Sunday, Morelia plays third-placed Santos, defending champion Toluca meets tournament leader Cruz Azul and America takes on second-placed Monterrey, the only remaining unbeaten team.
Necaxa had a 1-0 home win over Puebla on Friday.
Lopez gave Queretaro the lead against Guadalajara after driving into the box and finishing low across goalkeeper Luis Michel.
Jesus Sanchez equalized with a back-post header two minutes later and Chivas took the lead when Omar Arellano backheeled the ball to De La Mora in the box who curled a shot low inside the back post.
Mejia conceded a penalty and was sent off for a foul that replays suggested was just outside the box and Altamirano drilled the ball down the middle of the goal to equalize in the 83rd.
Chivas has only won once since losing the final of the Copa Libertadores and lies fifth in the tournament's Group One with 11 points.
The top two in each six-team group, plus the two best-placed teams in the general standings not to qualify automatically, will make the playoffs.
Queretaro remains bottom of Group Three with 11 points.
Meanwhile, Jorge Morales scored from a free kick to give Chiapas a 38th-minute lead over Atlante and Danilinho added a second in the 77th to secure the points.
Atlante lost for the second time running to lie fifth in Group Two, while Chiapas improved to second in Group Three after its fourth win in five games.
In Pachuca, Dante Lopez opened the scoring for Pumas in the 12th minute, but Leobardo Lopez pulled the game level in the 33rd.
Dario Cvitanich gave Pachuca the lead in the 47th and then provided the pass for Victor Manon to make it 3-1.
Juan Carlos Cacho pulled a goal back for Pumas just before the final whistle, but Pachuca held on and is fourth on 15 points in Group Two, the tournament's tightest section.
Pumas dropped to third behind Chiapas in Group Three.
In Monterrey, Tigres brushed aside Estudiantes despite Itamar Batista wasting a penalty in the second minute.
Batista made up for the miss with goals in the 18th and 66th minutes after teammate and fellow Brazilian Juninho opened the scoring in the 16th.
Lucas Lobos scored in the 27th and Damian Alvarez in the 83rd for Tigres, which climbed to 15 points in third place in Group One.
Estudiantes is bottom of Group One with eight points.
