Matias Vuoso scored in the second half to give America a 1-0 win at Atlante on Saturday to guarantee a place in the Mexican league's end-of-season playoffs.

Elsewhere, Chivas of Guadalajara has little chance of advancing to the playoffs after a scoreless draw with league leader Cruz Azul.

In other results Saturday it was: Chiapas 2, Atlas 1; Pachuca 2, Queretaro 1; San Luis 1, Santos 1 and UNAL Tigres 0, Morelia 1.

With one match left to play, Monterrey, Santos, America, San Luis, Cruz Azul and Chiapas are definitely in the playoffs. Two further places are still up for grabs.

Tigres, Toluca, Pachuca, UNAM Pumas and Morelia will vie for the two remaining spots in the postseason, while Chivas retains only a faint mathematical chance of progressing.

On Sunday, Puebla hosts Monterrey and Necaxa travels to Pumas.

In Cancun, Vuoso raced through on Atlante goalkeeper Moises Munoz after home defender Ever Marmol gave the ball away in his own half.

Vuoso finished with the outside of his right foot and America held on for victory despite Pavel Pardo missing a stoppage-time penalty.

In Guadalajara, Chivas needed a win over Cruz Azul to retain realistic hopes of reaching the playoffs, but Cruz Azul goalkeeper Jesus Corona produced a string of saves as the match ended scoreless.

San Luis will join America in the postseason after drawing 1-1 at home against Santos, which is also playoff bound.

Cristian Benitez scored a league-leading 14th goal of the season to give Santos a 54th-minute lead, but Diego De La Torre equalized for the home side four minutes later.

A goal in each half from Dario Cvitanich gave Pachuca a 2-1 win at home against Queretaro despite Edgar Benitez' missed penalty in the 54th minute.

Cvitanich found the net in the ninth and 61st, while Adrian Romero pulled a goal back for Queretaro in the 25th.

Chiapas beat Atlas with goals from Oscar Razo in the 14th minute and Jackson Martinez in the 75th. Fabricio Fuentes had equalized for Atlas on the hour mark.

Francisco Dorame scored the winning goal for Morelia in the 72nd minute at Tigres.
