Mensah wants Premier League return
The Ghana captain was on loan at Sunderland last term, where he made 16 league appearances for the Black Cats. He will now return to Lyon where he hopes his domestic future will be sorted out, as fellow Ligue 1 club Monaco are also thought to be interested. The 27-year-old centre-half missed a penalty as Ghana crashed out of the World Cup in the quarter-finals, although the Black Stars put up a brave fight. Mensah now wants to return to England, but admits the decision will probably be out of his hands. He told Skysports.com: "If it depends on me, I would prefer to stay in the Premier League but in football today there are many things involved. "Lyon is my club so they have their say as well. The sad thing is I never gave my best to Lyon. "I am resting now and want to get my batteries recharged for next season. I want to have an injury free season at the top level."
