Australian A-League club Melbourne Victory has signed Argentinian playmaker Marcos Flores from the Chinese club Henan Jianye to replace Harry Kewell.

Flores was voted player of the year in the A-League, when he played for Adelaide United in his only previous season in Australia in 2010-11.

He was released by Henan Jianye in June and now becomes Victory's star player and the club's final international signing.

Kewell was the A-League's highest-profile signing when he joined Victory last year. The former Leeds and Liverpool star announced last week he had terminated his contract to return to England for family reasons.
