Agbonlahor had to withdraw from the England squad after being ruled out with a hamstring injury that he suffered in training. But the club are hopeful the forward will be fit and available for the clash at White Hart Lane after he responded well to treatment. Agbonlahor has netted five goals in 12 league and cup appearances this season, contributing to Villa's start to the season that has seen them reach eighth place. They go to a Spurs side on Monday who are in impeccable form having won seven of their last eight Premier League games. McLeish told the club's official website: "Gabby has not joined the group yet but we are hopeful he will be back towards the end of the week. I think he has got a chance for Tottenham. "He has got a slight strain which guys like him, who are sprinters, the explosive guys, can pick up. "Gabby went to England in good faith and unfortunately came back with this little nick on his hamstring but they did the ultra scan on him and were adamant. "It was the England medical guys who flagged it up for us."
