McCann eyeing derby revenge
Burnley midfielder Chris McCann wants to avoid a repeat of their last meeting with Blackpool when the two sides meet again this weekend.
On the penultimate day of last season, the play-off bound Seasiders brushed aside the Clarets 4-0 at a fervent Bloomfield Road.
"That was a tough game to take in," said McCann. "None of us really performed that day. It wasn't a great day at the office for us but it's a new season, a new game."
The televised Saturday evening clash will be Burnley's first game under caretaker boss Terry Pashley following Eddie Howe's departure and McCann is eager to see a repeat of the performance that saw Blackpool dispatched 3-1 on their last visit a year ago.
"Hopefully with the home crowd behind us we can put on another performance as we did as we did last season at Turf Moor when we beat them," he added.
"It's a local derby and pride is at stake as well. We don't want to go out there and put on a poor performance - we want the three points to kick-start us again."
