Latics have spent much of the season languishing towards the bottom of the table and Martinez is refusing to panic just because there are only four games remaining. He has been encouraged by Wigan's recent form, which has kept them in with a chance of survival after being written off in many quarters earlier in the campaign. Martinez's men remain in the drop zone ahead of Saturday's clash with Everton but are only behind Blackpool on goal difference. The manager is confident his players have what it takes to pull clear of trouble and is delighted to be able to report a clean bill of health. "I think it is nothing different for us. It is not all of a sudden that we find ourselves in this situation," Martinez said on Sky Sports News. "We have been dealing with this for the last six months. "From our point of view nothing changes. We have found a very consistent level of performance in the last 10 games and all we need to do is carry on until the last day of the campaign. "Our biggest asset is the competition for places. We have a fully fit squad and everyone is desperate to play a part. "You can see that desire on the training ground and we need to carry on with the same focus and concentration." The meeting with Everton is Wigan's penultimate home game of the season and Martinez wants to make full use of the DW Stadium support. He added: "When you play at home you feel that support from the fans and the understanding of the position we are in really helps you to perform in a good way. "That is why we are very excited for Saturday, knowing Everton are a very experienced side and very competitive and unless you are at your best you won't be able to compete against them."
