Mario targets derby return
The 20-year-old travelled to Vermont recently to see a leading knee specialist and has revealed he is happy with the results. Balotelli has not played for City since the 4-0 victory over Aston Villa in December, yet has always stated he hoped to be fit in time to play in the crunch derby at Old Trafford on 12 February. According to the former Inter Milan player, it looks like that tentative prediction could become a reality, providing a huge boost to Roberto Mancini's side for the title run-in. "Manchester City are a strong team and I cannot wait for the time to come back," Balotelli told Sky Italia. "I did a good job in America and I hope to return for the derby with United. "I love English football and I'm good there. The future? We'll see." Despite only moving to Eastlands in the summer, Balotelli's future is already the topic of discussion. The player's agent Mino Raiola was coy about the Italian's plans, but that didn't stop him issuing a warning to awards rival Lionel Messi. "The future of Mario? He will decide, he's got it in his hands," said Raiola. "In two years he will decide whether to stay in City or go elsewhere because he is the only player who could win the Ballon d'Or three or four times. Messi has to be careful." Balotelli, not to be outdone, also weighed in on the Barcelona magician, adding: "Who would I take between me and Messi? "When I play on the Playstation I take Messi but in real life I choose me."
