Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will meet with Carlos Tevez on Friday to discuss the Argentina striker's future at the Premier League club.
Tevez confirmed on Sunday that he has handed in a transfer request to the Man City board because he has fallen out with club officials.
''I will speak with him on Friday,'' Mancini said Wednesday, on the eve of City's Europa League match at Juventus. ''I hope he continues to play with us ... and score for us.''
The Italian manager said he is confident Tevez would remain at Eastlands, despite the striker's claims that his relationship with some people at the club had broken down ''beyond repair.''
''Carlos is our player and will stay with us,'' Mancini said.
Tevez, who hasn't traveled to Italy for Thursday's Group A match, has 3 1/2 years remaining on a five-year contract. He has scored 39 goals for City.
Tevez's adviser said Wednesday that City's failure to qualify for this season's Champions League was a major factor behind the player wanting to leave.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Kia Joorabchian said the team had performed below Tevez's expectations by finishing fifth in last season's Premier League.
