Manchester City will be without captain Vincent Kompany and attacking midfielder David Silva for the English Premier League match at Sunderland on Sunday.
Silva was substituted with a calf injury in the Champions League win over CSKA Moscow on Tuesday and could be out of action for up to four weeks.
Kompany has a thigh strain. The central defender is expected to return against Tottenham on Nov. 24.
Also ruled out of Sunday's game is striker Stevan Jovetic, who has a calf problem, while midfielder Fernandinho and defender Matija Nastasic are both doubtful after picking up minor injuries on Tuesday.
