City manager Roberto Mancini said Tuesday that Tevez refused to come off the substitutes' bench in the second half of the 2-0 loss in the Champions League.
A club statement on Wednesday night said that ''Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks ... pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening's 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.''
City says Tevez will not be able to play or take part in training during the review.
Tevez issued a statement Wednesday insisting it was all a misunderstanding.
