Man United vs Ajax, Altidore vs Kljestan in Europa
Former European champions Manchester United and Ajax were drawn Friday to play in the second round of the Europa League, and Jozy Altidore's AZ Alkmaar was picked to face Sacha Kljestan's Anderlecht.
Defending champion Porto will play Manchester City, and 2010 champion Atletico Madrid will face Lazio.
The Altidore-Kljestan matchup figures to be the highlight of games involving Americans. In other games involving the U.S. player pool, Hannover and Steve Cherundolo play Brugge, Jermaine Jones and Schalke meet Viktoria Plzen, and Sporting Lisbon and Oguchi Onyewu play Legia Warsaw.
In other matches, it's Stoke vs. Valencia, Udinese vs. PAOK Thessaloniki and Locomotiv Moscow vs. Athletic Bilbao.
The first legs are played Feb. 14 and 16 and second legs Feb. 22 and 23.
If Manchester United advances, it would play the Locomotiv-Bilbao winner. If City advances, it would play Legia or Sporting Lisbon.
