Mainz striker Adam Szalai has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a back injury.
The Bundesliga club says the 25-year-old Hungarian suffered a fracture in the lower part of his spine in last Saturday's game at Borussia Dortmund and that he needs ''several weeks'' of rest.
Mainz was scheduled to play Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, having lost its previous three games and gone five without a win.
Szalai was the club's top scorer with 13 league goals.
