Lyon coach Remi Garde says he has been offered a new contract after the club won the French Cup for its first trophy in four years.

Garde met the Lyon president on Thursday and says on sports daily L'Equipe's website that the new deal will probably be for two years. He adds that ''there are certain things to sort out, but things went very well this morning.''

Formerly Lyon's youth team coach, Garde replaced Claude Puel at the start of the season on a one-year deal.

Last weekend's success was the club's first trophy since the French league and cup double in the 2007-08 season.
