Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has taken full responsibility for his side's first defeat of the campaign after the Spanish giants went down to a 3-2 Champions League loss at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Barca had previously gone unbeaten in their opening seven games this season, keeping a clean sheet in the process.

"I don't like to evaluate individual performances when we lose a game," Luis Enrique said to fcbarcelona.com. "I am the person responsible for this defeat. It wasn't my day for getting things right.

"Favourites have to prove that they are favourites on the pitch.

"PSG were able to cope with our pressure. They took their chances and made the most of our mistakes. We couldn't find the way to cause real damage until the last 30 minutes.

"We will analyse in depth what we did wrong to try and ensure these things don't happen again."

The outcome in France allowed PSG to leapfrog Barca and go top of Group F, while the Primera Division side are second in the standings, one point adrift and one point clear of Ajax after two games played.

"It (PSG's win) was no surprise to me," Luis Enrique said. "As I've said before, PSG are one of the favourites to win the Champions League.

"I'm not in the slightest bit bothered about losing the lead.

"I'm worried about getting back the good feelings for the next few games."

Barca, who lead the league standings with a two-point advantage over Valencia, travel to Madrid to face Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

The Catalan outfit return to European competition on October 21 when they host Dutch giants Ajax.
