The Italian Football Federation has rejected Francesco Lodi's appeal against a three-match ban.

Lodi was suspended after he was sent off for taking a swipe at an opponent. The Catania midfielder appeared to hit Riccardo Meggiorini in the head during Catania's 0-0 draw with Torino in Serie A on Jan. 5.

Lodi later apologized on Twitter.
