LIVERPOOL, England -- Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says striker Daniel Sturridge will return from injury for the English Premier League game against West Ham next weekend.

Sturridge, who was the second-highest scorer in the league last season, hasn't played since August.

Rodgers says the England international will be back in full training on Sunday after taking part in his ''final rehabilitation with the medical and sports science guys.''

The second leg of Liverpool's League Cup semifinal against Chelsea on Tuesday may come too soon for Sturridge. But Rodgers says on Saturday, after Liverpool's 0-0 draw with Bolton in the FA Cup, that ''if he's not ready for Tuesday, then he'll be back, for sure, against West Ham'' on Saturday.
