Liverpool signs striker Borini as Rodriguez exits
Italy striker Fabio Borini has joined in Liverpool from Roma as new coach Brendan Rodgers' first signing.
The 21-year-old Borini, who was part of Italy's European Championship runner-up squad, played under Rodgers during a loan spell at Swansea in 2011.
Borini scored 10 goals in 26 appearances for Roma.
The deal was completed as midfielder Maxi Rodriguez left Liverpool to rejoin former club Newell's Old Boys in Argentina.
The 31-year-old Maxi never established himself as a regular first-team starter after joining from Atletico Madrid in January 2010.
