Liverpool's new owners have appointed former Tottenham sporting director Damien Comolli to the position of director of football strategy.
New England Sports Ventures hired Comolli from Saint-Etienne, the French club he joined after leaving Spurs in October 2008.
New England Sports Ventures principal John Henry says Comolli will contribute to ''scouting, recruitment, player development and all of the other aspects necessary to build and sustain a club.''
Comolli departed Tottenham when the club fired coach Juande Ramos.
