World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi is attending Ukraine's friendly against Switzerland, fueling speculation he could take charge of the 2012 European Championship host.

Ukraine officials have denied weekend reports in Italian media linking Lippi with the Ukraine job.

Lippi has been available for work since his contract with Italy ended after a first-round exit at the World Cup in June.

The 62-year-old Lippi guided Italy to win the 2006 World Cup, then stood down before returning to lead the Azzurri two years later.

Ukraine's team to face the Swiss on Wednesday was picked by Yuri Kalitvintsev, who was appointed interim coach in August.

Ukraine qualifies automatically for Euro 2012 as co-host with Poland.
