Ling: We didn't deserve to lose

Torquay boss Martin Ling felt he had no reason to criticise his players despite the 1-0 defeat to struggling Barnet.

Clovis Kamdjo's late strike lifted the Bees off the foot of the League Two table but Ling claimed his side were worthy of a point, if not more.

"I felt that the best side didn't win the game, we pressed them all the way and I could only ever see one scoreline coming," said Ling.

"I criticised the players after Saturday's game (a 1-0 loss to non-league Harrogate in the FA Cup) but I feel like we've been ambushed.

"Our players are taught how to shoot and hit the target as best we can but we never hit the target on a regular basis and we never really worked the 'keeper enough.

"That's where a lot of the frustration comes from. Saturday was disappointing but I thought this was, all-in-all, a positive performance."
