Liga de Quito won the Ecuador first-division title Sunday for its 10th league championship, despite a 1-0 loss to Emelec in the two-leg final.
Liga de Quito won the first leg 2-0 and claimed a 2-1 victory on aggregate.
David Quiroz scored in the 60th minute for Emelec, which was unable to break through with a second goal as Liga de Quito - under Argentine coach Edgardo Bauza - went into a defensive shell.
Deportivo Quito finished third in the standings. All three qualify for the regional Copa Libertadores, which opens in January.
