Bayer Leverkusen co-coach Sascha Lewandowski is quitting the post to take over the club's junior side in a move that will leave Sami Hyypia alone in charge of the Bundesliga team.

With one match remaining in the season, Leverkusen is in third place and will play in next season's Champions League.

The club said Wednesday that Lewandowski was sad to be leaving because he would miss the challenge of the Champions League but was looking forward to working with young talents.
