Leonardo, who won his debut 3-1 against Napoli on Thursday, says he owes former Inter coach Mourinho "a lot of gratitude, in this initial phase he's helped me ... He's been very open with me and we've discussed many things."

Leonardo recently replaced Rafa Benitez, who led Inter for just six months before falling out of favor with club president Massimo Moratti.

Mourinho guided Inter to a historic treble last season, with Inter becoming the first club to win Serie A, the Italian Cup and the Champions League in one season. Then Mourinho left for Real.

Inter visits Catania on Sunday and will have striker Samuel Eto'o back after a three-game ban for head butting a Chievo Verona opponent.
