Chris Wood will join Championship club Leicester when the January transfer window opens next week.

The 21-year-old West Bromwich Albion striker will reportedly move in a ?1.25m deal having failed to secure a first team spot at The Hawthorns.

Woods last played for the Baggies in August 2010, since when he has had loan spells with Barnsley, Brighton, Birmingham, Bristol City and Millwall.

He has just returned to the Midlands following three months with the Lions and Baggies assistant coach Keith Downing said: "Leicester has shown a great interest in Chris and I expect the move to be done when the transfer window opens.

"He has done exceptionally well at Millwall and we have brought him back here."

Meanwhile, the Baggies have recalled midfielder George Thorne from a loan spell at Peterborough and he is included in the squad to face Manchester United on Saturday.
