Ledesma rescues point for Boca
Boca Juniors stayed on top in Argentina despite a disappointing 1-1 draw on Sunday with Buenos Aires rival Argentinos Juniors.
The famous Argentine club played with a man advantage from the 21st minute after Argentinos Juniors' Diego Placente was sent off, but failed to capitalize.
Alejandro Capurro gave Argentinos Juniors a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute, but Boca equalized in the 34th with a penalty by Pablo Ledezma.
Boca improved to 13 points in six matches, one ahead of Newell's Old Boys. Four teams have 11 - Racing, Velez, Colon and Arsenal.
In other results Sunday it was : Belgrano 1, Racing 0; Independiente 1, Quilmes 1; River Plate 3, Newell's 3.
Capurro scored a spectacular goal, stripping a Boca player of possession at midfield and then firing in on a low shot from 30 meters (yards). Ledezma converted his penalty after teammate Santiago Silva was pulled down in the area.
Newell's and Racing could have moved into the lead with a victory, but both failed to deliver.
Pablo Perez scored in the 11th to give Newell's a 1-0 lead, but River Plate led 2-1 at the break on David Treqeguet's goal in the 19th and Rodrigo Mora's strike in the 22nd.
River pushed the lead to 3-1 on Rogelio Funes Mori's striker in the 67th, but Newell's rallied with two late goals by Ignacio Scocco in the 70th on a penalty, and one from open play in the 73rd.
Belgrano's Cesar Carranza scored late in the first half to spoil Racing's day.
Jacobo Mansilla scored in the 35th for Quilmes with Independiente's Ernesto Farias equalizing in the 52nd.
