Laws in limbo over players' deals
Laws is in discussions with a number of squad members over new deals but much depends on which division the club are playing in next season. The Clarets have a tough task to maintain their Premier League status having been cut three points adrift of safety with just seven games remaining. Laws said: "We are going to get to a stage where decisions will be made about players' comings and goings, but we can't really make a decision until we know for sure which direction we are going in." A report had suggested that veteran players Graham Alexander and Robbie Blake were close to agreeing new deals. Laws, however, insists the relegation fight and Sunday's crucial derby against Blackburn at Turf Moor are his prime concerns. He added: "We have been talking to quite a few of the players about contracts and so on, we have got to start doing that. "Whilst we continue talking there is always a chance players could agree terms. "Everything is going positively for us but the most important thing is we concentrate on this game. "It is not about players' contracts or anything like that - that is secondary at this moment in time."
