It was revealed on Friday that Wigan were locked in talks with the La Liga side and the negotations have now reached a positive conclusion, according to a statement on the Spanish outfit's website. Ruben has been playing for Villarreal's B side in the Spanish second division this season, scoring nine goals, but the Yellow Submarine reportedly want to recoup at least the £5million they paid River Plate for the Argentine back in 2008. Ruben, 23, is now due to travel to England next week to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Roberto Martinez's side. A statement on Villarreal's official website read: "Villarreal and Wigan Athletic have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Marco Ruben."
