The Canaries start their pre-season fixtures at local Ridgeons Football League side Gorleston Town on Saturday, before heading out to Germany for a short training camp, where they will play two low-key games against Sparta Gottingen/RSV Gottingen and FSV Wacker 90 Nordhausen. Lambert, who won the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund in 1997, intends to use the time away to fine tune preparations for the trip to Wigan on August 13. "When we get them to Germany it's time to get them together and get them bonding really, that's important as well," he said. "But as I've said I don't have any fear given the type of characters we have and I'm sure they'll get on very well." Lambert added: "Our job is to get those lads ready for the Wigan game and that's the main priority, to get them all gelling together and make them that close-knit unit that we're going to have to have to compete."
