Smith, 20, made 19 starts and nine substitute appearances last season as the Canaries were promoted as Championship runners-up. However, his only outing so far in this campaign was in the 4-0 home humbling by MK Dons in the Carling Cup. Smith is desperate to forced his way into Paul Lambert's plans and was one of three players with first-team experience to play for the reserves in Tuesday's 4-2 defeat by West Brom's second string. Culverhouse told The Advertiser: "I think Korey's found it a little bit hard and he gets down on himself a little bit but he's a good player, he's one for the future and he knows he's well thought of here. "So he has to use these games just for himself and get minutes under his belt."
