Knight loving Trotters life
The former Aston Villa stopper, who arrived in 2009, has not missed a minute of the Trotters' 25 Premier League and cup encounters this term. And the 30-year-old feels he has finally reached his full potential, crediting manager Owen Coyle for helping him find his top gear. When asked whether he was in the best form of his career, Knight told the Manchester Evening News: "I think so, yes. "I have found a manager who believes in me, and who gives me confidence. But it's not just the gaffer, my team-mates do as well. "I'm really enjoying it and I just want things to continue - for my form to blossom and for the team to blossom." Knight, who captained Bolton to an FA Cup third-round win against York City on Saturday after Kevin Davies started on the bench, is eager to preserve his impressive record for the Trotters this term. "I'm glad to have played every minute," said the former England defender. "I might be a 'Mr Reliable' but I'm just glad to be playing week in, week out. "People talk about me being out of the side last season but under (Gary) Megson I only missed two games. "That's two games in nearly two seasons, so I'm more than happy with that. "When you are playing well you want the games to come thick and fast, so hopefully my good form can continue." The Trotters have enjoyed a storming start to the season, picking up 30 points to sit a current seventh in the league. But Knight insists his side cannot afford to lose concentration between now and May, adding: "Personally and for the team, the first half of this season has gone well. But we have to keep some focus and not think we're there yet, because we're not. "The league is still tight at the moment and we have got some big games coming up where we need three points. "I want us to get to that 40-point mark as quickly as possible and then try to reach other accolades after that."
