Midfielder Peer Kluge has joined Schalke from fellow Bundesliga club Nuremberg on a 3 1/2-year contract.

Schalke gave no financial details of Kluge's transfer on Monday.

The 29-year-old German has been at Nuremberg since 2007 and previously played for Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Kluge is Schalke's fifth acquisition since the start of the winter break. The others include midfielder Alexander Baumjohann, who joined from Bayern Munich, and Brazilian striker Edu, who moved from South Korea's Suwon Blue Wings.
