Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has been ruled out for two weeks with a thigh injury picked up against Blackburn on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international sustained a minor tear to his upper left thigh during the Carling Cup quarter-final defeat at Ewood Park.
Kalou played all 120 minutes of the game, which finished 3-3 before Rovers prevailed 4-3 on penalties to advance to the last four.
The injury looks set to sideline Kalou for the Premier League matches against Manchester City on Saturday, Everton on Saturday week and possibly Portsmouth on December 16 as well as the Champions League visit of Apoel Nicosia next Tuesday.
