Jorge Campos opens up about his kit selection, time with MLS
After all these years, we finally have an answer.
Jorge Campos has always been a colorful character in more ways than one. The Mexican legend captured hearts after a memorable 1994 World Cup campaign for El Tri with his unique playing style and athleticism under the sticks.
His choice in wardrobe, however, did not.
Campos' kit selection was singled out by multiple news outlets as one the worst ever. The former Major League Soccer standout explained why he decided to wear his trademarked multi-colored kits throughout his career.
"It was a special era and I always enjoyed wearing them at the beach," Campos told FOXSoccer.com during Bud Light's "Up For Whatever" campaign. "I loved and used those colors growing up in Acapulco. They were unique so I decided to wear them while playing. They took a life of their own and fans loved them."
"El Brodi," who also starred in MLS's first three seasons with the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chicago Fire, fondly remembered his time in Tinseltown.
"I'll never forget my time in Major League Soccer and the Los Angeles Galaxy," Campos added. "To start in MLS and to see it morph into a competitive league is truly refreshing."
