Hasan Abdel Fattah scored four times to help Jordan to a 9-0 win over hapless Nepal in the first leg of their World Cup qualifier Saturday.
The Jordanian midfielder opened the scoring for the home side in the 10th minute with a close range header. That was followed 13 minutes later by a stunning drive from Amer Deeb and Jordan was well on its way to a victory when Ahmad Hayel scored a header in the 32nd minute. Abdullah Theeb made it 4-0 in the last minute of the first half.
The goals kept coming after the break as Deeb, Ahmed Hayel and Fattah scored their second goals to give Jordan a 7-0 lead. And with Nepal posing no threat in attack, Fattah then added two more to complete the rout.
The second leg is Thursday in Katmandu.
