Jordan: Clarets happier at home

The Clarets' away form is well documented - they have picked up just one point in nine matches on the road - and is threatening to overshadow their excellent record at Turf Moor. And although Jordan insists the players are doing everything to put right their troubles on opposition territory, being at home is really where they are a force to be reckoned with. "It's good to be back at Turf Moor, considering how it has been away from home," said the 27-year-old. "It's a big game on Boxing Day. As you saw with Wolves (where Burnley lost last time out), they were in the bottom three and moved to 12th after one win. "If we get a couple of victories under our belts we will be looking up rather than down." Burnley have taken 18 points from a possible 27 at home and that has helped keep them clear of the relegation zone. Owen Coyle's side are currently 14th, three points above the drop zone. "I suppose a lot of people didn't expect us to get this many but those of us within the camp know we deserve to be in the Premier League and, to be honest, we think we could be on more points," said Jordan. "We've learned a lot and quickly - which you have to do if you want to stay in the league. "It is a case of if you give half a chance away you get punished. That is the difference between the Championship and the Premier League. "Everyone knows there are the top six or seven and then everyone in and around the bottom half have to beat each other and any three from the next 14 can go down. "If we get anything against the top teams it is a bonus." Centre-backs Steven Caldwell and Clarke Carlisle are both doubts for the Bolton game having sustained groin injuries in Sunday's defeat to Wolves.
