Jones looks set to stay at Schalke
Schalke have confirmed Jermaine Jones is likely to stay at the club as they have yet to receive an offer for the former Blackburn loanee.
The American midfielder spent the second half of the season with Rovers after joining last January.
Jones made a positive impression at Ewood Park and established himself as a key member of the side as he made 15 appearances in Steve Kean's team.
The America international had expressed an interest in making his loan switch permanent, but it appears he will start the season at Schalke with the club's general manager Horst Heldt admitting no bids have been received for the midfielder.
"Jermaine Jones is under contract and I have not been receiving any enquiry from any club thus far with regard to him," Heldt told Bild.
"Jermaine Jones will be back at Schalke and he will join training later on this month."
Schalke coach Ralf Rangnick admits Jones' return would be a welcome addition for the squad if he can prove his fitness.
"If Jermaine Jones is holding a certain fitness he could be a boost for our squad," noted Rangnick.
