Johnson to miss most of season
QPR have announced Andrew Johnson has been ruled out for the "majority of the season" after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The injury-prone striker sustained the knee problem in Saturday's draw with Chelsea and had to be substituted before half-time.
Manager Mark Hughes at the weekend confirmed Johnson was set for a scan on his damaged joint and results have now confirmed the worst for QPR.
A statement on the club's official Twitter account read: "Andy Johnson suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Chelsea and is likely to be sidelined for the majority of the season."
On-loan Manchester United defender Fabio da Silva also suffered an injury in the 0-0 stalemate with Chelsea.
Hughes announced in his post-match press conference the full-back was facing a few weeks on the sidelines as a result of a pulled hamstring.
Anton Ferdinand, who caused controversy before the match by snubbing a handshake with John Terry and Ashley Cole, also suffered a hamstring problem against Chelsea.
