Jenas poised for Villa debut
Jenas was signed on loan from Tottenham at the end of August but has been sidelined with thigh and Achilles problems. He has returned to full training, however, and Villa boss Alex McLeish confirmed he will be in his plans for the trip to the Stadium Of Light. McLeish said: "Jermaine hasn't kicked a ball in the jersey yet and it has been frustrating for him and for us. "But we are delighted to see him back on the training field. "It's probably too soon to start him. But I certainly have plans to include him in the squad for the weekend." Full-back Alan Hutton is also available after needing seven stitches in a head wound suffered in an aerial collision with team-mate Charles N'Zogbia during the 2-1 home defeat against West Brom. McLeish said: "He has got a cut down the side of his eye. It was quite severe but he trained today and I saw him heading some balls. "The doctor has given him some medication - pain killers - and I believe Alan is in the right frame of mind to start. "He wants to start if selected. He is that sort of guy." McLeish declined to comment on the suspension of Barry Bannan, who is the subject of an internal inquiry after being arrested by police on suspicion of drink driving. He said: "There is nothing further to add to the statement we gave the media during the last couple of days."
