Jarvis: Baggies result is key
The club currently sit second bottom of the Premier League and two points adrift of safety as they battle for top-flight survival this season. Even with a win this weekend, Mick McCarthy's men would remain in the thick of a relegation scrap in what is shaping up to be a tight finish at the bottom of the table. But England new-boy Jarvis believes the result against the Baggies, currently 11th in the standings, will be decisive in determining Wolves' fate. "If we beat West Brom, we'll stay up, I think," said Jarvis. "It's a huge game, no matter what division we're in. But if it could get any bigger, then it is bigger for us with the position we're in. "We need the points more than they do. "That would be three points more first and foremost but also it would enhance the positive feel around the place." Jarvis experienced relegation when he dropped out of the Championship with former club Gillingham on the final day of the season back in 2005. And the 24-year-old, whose performances for Wolves this term led to him winning his first England cap against Ghana in March, is desperate to avoid a repeat of that disappointment. He added: "It's devastating to be relegated. It's horrible. No one wants to be put through that. "But this time last year we were in a similar situation and we got ourselves out of it. So we can use that experience to help us. "I don't want to look back and think that's the season I won my first cap and got relegated as well."
