FIFA has suspended Jamaican player Jermaine Hue for nine months after he tested positive for a banned substance at a World Cup qualifying match.

FIFA says team doctor Carlton Fraser is banned from soccer for four years for administering the drug, dexamethasone.

Hue, a 35-year-old midfielder, tested positive after Jamaica's 2-0 loss against Honduras in Tegucigalpa on June 11.

Jamaica is last in a six-team CONCACAF qualifying group and has little chance of qualifying for next year's World Cup in Brazil.

FIFA says Hue's suspension expires on May 6, 2014. Fraser's ban runs until Aug. 7, 2017. They can appeal.
