Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni has been hospitalized with nausea before the team's exhibition match with Argentina.

The Football Association of Ireland says that the 71-year-old Trapattoni is in stable condition and undergoing tests after being taken to a Dublin hospital at 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Italian coach had been feeling ill since arriving in Ireland on Sunday, an ailment he believes might have be caused by shellfish he ate before leaving Italy.

Assistant coach Marco Tardelli will be in charge of training Tuesday, a day before the team faces Argentina in Dublin.
